PSL 2021 Schedule

Even though we don’t have the entire schedule of PSL 2021 yet, there are some news that give us good insights about the upcoming PSL season and the schedule it will be following. The PSL 2021 draft is scheduled in November this year with rumors suggesting that there will be 7 teams to participate in the fifth season of the tournament. The sources are claiming the start of the tournament to be on 20th February, 2021 with the month-long tournament scheduled to end on March 22.

According to Samaa News, the Pakistan Super League 2021 Final is scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 22, 2021. Besides, there have also been reports that Lahore will host another 13 matches of the tournament, bringing cricket fans the utmost joy and a festive feel. The Playoffs will be played in Lahore as well. The National Stadium in Karachi, on the other hand, will stage 9 of the tournament’s matches.

Among other venues are Multan and Rawalpindi which are expected to get a few PSL 2021 fixtures as well during the PSL 6. If you could recall your memories, the PSL finals for last two seasons had been staged in Karachi and it’s only been the honor for Lahore once in the history.

This 2021 PSL 6 is going to be the very first season of the tournament that is scheduled to be played in Pakistan right from the opening ceremony to the last ball being bowled in the Final PSL 2021. During the inaugural seasons, the flagship T20 tournament under PCB was played in UAE completely. However, regular efforts have been there on part of the cricket board to bring the tournament back home gradually.

PSL 2021 Season 6 Fixtures/Time Table

The HBL PSL 6 is all set to get underway on the 20th of February 2021 and we have only a few months left before the action could go live. Even though we have a few details already at hand about the PSL 6 schedule, we don’t yet have the PSL 2021 fixtures complete details including timing and dates.

As of now, PCB has only unveiled a few details and we only have the dates for the opening match of the tournament and the HBL PSL 6 Final. Even the teams that will be playing the opening match of the tournament have not yet been announced. However, it’s likely that the winners of the last season of the tournament will be playing against the team that finished last in PSL 2021 opener.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as the PCB has officially announced PSL 2021 Fixtures. So, just stay tuned and keep reading.

Pakistan Super League 2021 Venues (Season 6)

Whenever a mega cricket event is set to start, the cricket fanatics are willing to get the every single detail about the tournament. And, among these details, the venues really are the most important ones because that suggests what kind of pitches could be expected, what atmosphere will be there in the grounds, and if you could be able to go out there and watch the matches live for yourself or not. As far as the PSL 2021 is concerned, the list of PSL 2021 venues has already been finalized and the tournament will be played across 4 venues in Pakistan. Here’s a look at these venues.

  • Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore (Capacity: 27000 Matches to be Played: 13)

The Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore became the first venue where international cricket teams were hosted in the efforts to revive cricket in Pakistan after the attack on Sri Lankan national team in 2009. The venue also hosted the initial PSL Final which was the first game of the tournament to be hosted in Pakistan. And, it staged the gradual rehabilitation of cricket in the country hosting a few matches of PSL in the coming editions.

The Gaddafi Stadium holds a capacity of 27000 and is set to host 13 matches of the upcoming PSL 6 in 2021. As news have been afloat already, the stadium will host the tournament Final and also the playoff matches as well.

  • National Stadium, Karachi (Capacity: 35000 Matches to be Played: 9)

The popular National Stadium has recently undergone some renovation in the bid to host the matches of the PSL 2021. Don’t forget here that the same venue hosted the PSL 2019 Final as well and is now set to stage 9 games of the tournament including the PSL 2021 Opening Ceremony.

The National Stadium holds a capacity of 35000 people which is, probably, the highest among all the cricket stadiums in the country. The newly renovated stadium will host the first game of the tournament on 20th Feb. 2021.

  • Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium (Capacity: 28000 Matches to be Played: 8)

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is the hallmark of the twin cities in Pakistan and attracts players from both Rawalpindi and Islamabad. However, it’s been since 2006 that the stadium has not staged any international games and international players haven’t played any cricket there. So, the good news for the cricket fans in the region is that their favorite international stars will be back in action on their local cricket ground as the venue has been chosen to host PSL 6 matches.

The stadium with a capacity of 28000 individuals is set to host a total of 8 games in the month-long tournament. The PSL 2021 fixtures haven’t yet been announced and, therefore, we don’t know yet as to which teams will be playing their matches here. Quite likely, Islamabad United is going to play a few of their matches here.

  • Multan Cricket Stadium (Capacity: 35000 Matches to be Played: 4)

Last but not the least, one of the biggest stadiums in the country, the Multan Cricket Stadium is also going to host cricket matches in the latest edition of Pakistan Super League. The stadium staged its first game in 2001 and has largely been the venue to host local/regional games since the attack on Sri Lankan Cricket team in 2009. Even though it’s been selected as a venue for the PSL Season 6 but it still comes last on the priority list.

The stadium boasts a capacity of 35000 and the greenest outfield. It will expectedly host just 4 games of the PSL 2021 season. And, among these four games, we are expecting that the local side ‘Multan Sultans’ will feature in all the matches. But that’s not certain yet as the complete PSL 2021 fixtures have not yet been announced.

Where To Buy PSL 2021 Tickets?

Even though it’s just too early to talk about the PSL 2021 tickets, the cricket fanatics have already started seeking their opportunities to make sure that they enjoy the PSL matches live. The PSL T20 tickets are going to be on sale pretty soon for this latest season of the tournament.

The PSL 6th edition will expectedly have a new team showing up and there will be another city’s representation on the PSL scene. The biggest catch for PSL 6 2021 is that the matches will be played on home soil and we’ll expectedly see all the foreign players showing their master class on the Pakistani wickets. The venues have already been announced and you just need to stay tuned before the tickets sale goes live.

If you talk about the tickets sale for the previous edition, the HBL PSL 4, which was held partly in Pakistan with major chunk of the tournament staged in UAE, it was Q-Tickets where the tickets were sold initially. For the second leg of the tournament, however, Yavo took the responsibility and sold the tickets online for all the playoffs as well as the HBL PSL Final that was staged in Karachi. With the tournament starting in the latter part of February this time around, you can expect tickets to go on sale somewhere late in January or early February.

As far as the HBL PSL 6 Tickets Prices are concerned, you can expect something in the range between Rs. 500 and Rs. 10000. Last time around, the maximum paid for a PSL ticket was Rs. 8000. So, you can expect something similar this time around as well.

HBL PSL 2021 Team Squads

The HBL PSL 2021 has a lot of buzz around the seventh team that was announced by the former PCB chairman Mr. Najam Sethi to be joining other franchises for the PSL 6. Even though we haven’t heard much about that team lately and it’s still uncertain which city is going to emerge as the 7th franchise to be added to the mix, we hope the other six franchises to remain the same as last year. So, here we have the list of all six franchises and their probable team squads.

  • Islamabad United Squad PSL 2021

In last season, Islamabad United came up with a new captain as it was Mohammad Sami seen in that role. We expect Islamabad to persist with the same captain, at least. Shadab Khan, Luke Ronchi, Faheem Ashraf, and Asif Ali will expectedly be among the retained players as we have seen them for last few seasons with this same franchise. We also expect Musa Khan to be part of their squad too because he came up with some brilliant performances in the last season.

  • Karachi Kings Squad PSL 2021

Karachi Kings was led by Imad Wasim in the HBL PSL 4 and the new captain did lead them quite impressively. The young and energetic Imad is expectedly going to lead the side in the upcoming season as well. They’ll probably retain players like Mohammad Amir, Babar Azam, Sohail Khan, Liam Livingstone, and Umer Khan. The young left-arm spinner did impress with his amazing bowling picking up a few ricketing stalwarts in his initial stint.

  • Peshawar Zalmi Squad PSL 2021

Peshawar Zalmi, probably the most loved team in Pakistan Super League, will again be lead by Darren Sammy who has adopted the group like family. The most loved cricketing figure from PSL in the country, Darren has helped his side reach the final stages on many occasions. Besides him, there are quite a few players that we’ll see in action again from this same franchise. Some key names include Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Kamran Akmal, and Imam ul Haq. Keiron Pollard and Chris Jordan will also expectedly remain the part of this franchise.

  • Quetta Gladiators Squad PSL 2021

Quetta Gladiators have been among the most successful sides to show up on the PSL stage. Lead by Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, the team has featured in the HBL PSL Final on several occasions. A few names that you can expect to see from them in the upcoming season of PSL include Shane Watson, Rilee Rossouw, Mohammad Nawaz, Ahsan Ali, and Dwayne Smith.

  • Lahore Qalandars Squad PSL 2021

Lahore Qalandars remains the most entertaining franchise at the PSL scene after the first four seasons of the tournament. They have had quite a few changes in their ranks over the years but, unfortunately, haven’t been able to make a mark with their performances. AB de Villiers lead them in the last season and they featured players like Anton Devcich, Corey Anderson, Carlos Brathwaite, Sohail Akhtar, Mohammad Hafeez, and Fakhar Zaman. Most of the Pakistani players from these would probably be retained for the fifth season as well but they really need some miracles to happen to help them win their matches regularly and impress the fans in the next season.

  • Multan Sultans

After the change of ownership in last season, Multan Sultans still couldn’t perform at their best. They have some good names in their ranks with the likes of Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, James Vince, Johnson Charles, Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan, and Muhammad Abbas. Even Andre Russell was part of their squad and they’ll be looking forward to retain a few of these names for the upcoming season too.

As for the seventh team, not many details have been unveiled yet and, therefore, you need to sit tight and see which new team is added. Just wait and watch what squad they choose for their first appearance at the HBL PSL 6 Players Draft.
